In Other Words..

Today I am sharing the words of others, as I came across a couple of things that I found comforting and wanted to share.

"A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear [that results] from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl."
Stephan Hoeller

"The greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being."
Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama

The power of other's words

It's a busy Saturday..but I wanted to share a few quotes that I have hanging by my desk (where I write.)

  • "Practice yourself - in little things, thence proceed to greater." (Epicetus)
  • "The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for." (Allan K. Chalmers)
  • "If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others." (Anne Morrow Lindbergh)

That's all for today. Happy Saturday!

Read the signs

I was at my favorite restaurant today, catching up with a friend, and while I was paying my bill I saw a sign that was posted near the register. It's funny how it was a "sign" in the literal sense and also a "sign" in the sense of coming into my life for a reason.

Take a moment to read it, I think you'll find that it goes along with yesterday's post about seeking and attracting happiness. It truly is a lifestyle change! And one that is well worth it.

Thank you Gandi for your inspiring start to my day!
