Say no to "doglessness!"

In an effort to blog about a new topic and something that people may find of interest, I took the liberty of browsing several articles online until I found something that inspired me. I came across something really cool over this past weekend that I could not pass up the opportunity to share - Pedigree's Dog Adoption Drive.
Pedigree has created an initiative to support adoption while "helping to cure people of their doglessness." I think this is an incredible way to promote a great cause and their company as an active part of giving back to the community. According to their website, over 4 million dogs enter shelters every year! Can you imagine what a difference it would be if people chose adoption over purchasing a puppy from a breeder? Kudos to Pedigree for taking a stand and making a difference! I know that if I were in any position to adopt a dog (thanks to both my college schedule and my no-animals-policy apartment, it is unfortunately bad timing), I would love support their cause. Passionate people!

I'm always amazed how people manage to incorporate their passion for things into their work and their daily life. One of my favorite musicians, Jack Johnson, is going on tour this summer and is doing something unique - "greening" his music tour. In doing so, he's promoting the idea of carpooling, having paperless tickets, volunteering at his shows, choose locally grown food and striveto be plastic free. I think it's really great that a well-known music artist like Jack is using his powerful influence to positively impact the people around him - something we have all seen can have an extraordinary impact!

Have you seen any companies, people, businesses, celebrities, etc. that are doing inspirational things to promote the good in the world? I think it's all around us - we just have to take note of it and share it with others!
