Day 33

Mondays are probably always the most challenging day of the week, as my schedule usually starts around 9am and goes straight to 11:00pm without any breaks (I am constantly asking myself why I set it up this way!) So anyway, it takes something a little "extra" to brighten my days on Mondays but today I came across a pretty cool blog that I wanted to share. There is a man, nicknamed "No Impact Man" who decided to (along with his family) spend a year making a lifestyle change to protect our environment. "For one year, my wife, my 2-year-old daughter, my dog and I, while living in the middle of New York City, are attempting to live without making any net impact on the environment. In other words, no trash, no carbon emissions, no toxins in the water, no elevators, no subway, no products in packaging, no plastics, no air conditioning, no TV, no toilets…"

I like this for a few reasons, but mostly because I think it is a really admirable project and like myself, it is a one year "challenge" that was blogged about. Obviously, I'm a fan of both challenges and blogs and when combined, I think they can be pretty powerful! So anyway, there is something called No Impact Project which is a week-long version of the project and the kickoff date is October 18th. I encourage everyone to check it out! I think I am going to try and do it - I'll update more later. Here is the link: http://noimpactproject.org/experiment/

  1. OK, this has "achiever" written all over it! Which leads to my positive contribution for the day....

I just got home from a "Living Your Strengths" program at St. Ambrose so I thought I would share! I am excited to say that there will be three follow-up sessions starting Monday Oct. 5th (Mondays=busy days for Candice:). These sessions will allow the class to dig deeper into our top 5 strengths, what they mean, and more importantly, on ways we can put our natural best strengths to work.

I'll keep you posted on the tools we use and my progress:)

  2. That is so awesome!!! I will admit, I am slightly jealous...although tonight was pretty cool because I got to hear social-media expert Chris Brogan speak (he came to Chapman) and it was really great to hear what he had to say. Anyway I am excited to hear about your program, I'm definitely interested in hearing more!!
