Hide & seek

As I mentioned a few days ago, one of the ways to achieve the “waking up” phase toward a positive attitude and happier life, is to open your eyes to everything around you. You might be surprised by what you see when you take the time to actually notice it all! On my way to work today I realized I was driving into downtown right as the sun was coming up over the horizon. I scrambled to grab my cell phone (from my purse, in the backseat, fyi), because I just HAD to get a picture of the beautiful sight. I knew immediately that I wanted to share it – through texts, my blog, or however I could, but it was just such a pretty scene that I had to take advantage of it.

It got me to thinking – how many times do you go for a drive and not look around at all? (I’m not saying you should drive and be searching out the windows for a pretty sight – that obviously isn’t safe!) As a matter of fact, I’m not even talking strictly just about driving, but instead, any time you are anywhere (a.k.a all-the-time!!!) Stop what you’re doing, for just a moment, to look around. If it isn’t something you’re physically surrounded by, maybe it’s something in your life (a person, an event, a recent goal you accomplished, a “game” of TAG, etc.) but I know that beauty is there somewhere. Maybe it isn’t as obvious as a physical object or event, but I think the sunrise that I witnessed today is a great example of life’s “hidden beauties.” What is hiding in your life? Open your eyes and seek it out! Share your thoughts here. :)

  3. So I've been finding it hard to find much beauty in anything around here lately since it's been so rainy and gray and of course today was no different. But as I walked out of my class, everything outside just smelled so fresh and new and amazing and I actually stopped to appreciate the rain. Although it sucks when it's happening, it can bring a lot of good things too :) <3 you!

  4. Thanks for that Katie! It's so true.. when you stop and appreciate things, even the things that can sometimes be annoying, you start to see it in a whole new way :)
