Note to self

Aside from writing in my planner and creating endless amounts of to-do lists, I'm doing everything I can to keep the more important issue in mind of being present, exactly where I am, right now. It's easy to obsess over wondering how in the world everything is going to get done, or what will happen tomorrow, or even more often, stressing over bumps in "plans" that don't work out how you want them to. But if you spend time today worrying about what's to come tomorrow, what does that accomplish in the end? Well, nothing! I have to keep reminding myself of that but so far it has helped me to realize that what will come tomorrow will come regardless, and if I waste time overthinking it or freaking out, it won't do any good.

A quote that I came across today encompassed exactly the thought that I had:
“You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future."

And I'll end on that note. What do you think about "worrying" about things that haven't happened yet?

  2. I know that it will not get you to a good place. I know because I have been there. All you can do is live in the present and do your best, that is all that anyone can ask for. You can also be proud of yourself for being able to do that.

All you can do is prioritize your to-do list and try to work through it. Figure out what you can do today or tomorrow and what can wait for a few days. It is the only way to not go completely insane.

  3. I absolutely love this post because it basically sums up how I've been feeling lately! I freak out all to often about the future and I need to learn to live in the NOW! This was a very good post :)

ps. I'm stealing that quote :)
