Day 2

For starters, I figured I should give a disclaimer for my "challenge" project... I am completely aware of the reality that not every day is going to be perfect! I think I've been in the mindset of summer/vacation mode for the past several months so at this point it is probably easier than usual for me to see everything in a positive way. However, that doesn't change the fact that I want to continue moving forward with this. My goal for the end of the year is to make a lifestyle change - one that alters the way I look at every day when I wake up in the morning. I figure you have a choice, you can look at things with a why-is-this-happening-to-me-attitude, or you can take it as it comes and go with it. And I definitely think the easier route is the 2nd option!

So for today, (which was fabulous by the way), everything seemed pretty awesome. The weather was incredible - and considering that there are like 8 sunny days a year in Cleveland, I feel pretty lucky that today was one of them! I even had the opportunity to eat lunch on the patio of a restaurant downtown. The setting immediately reminded me of cafes in Europe and my heart began to ache for it! I miss it like crazy but I feel so fortunate that I had the experience of living there for those four months, and now I can look forward to days like today that take me down memory lane! So let's see...on my drive home from work I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and let the wind rip through my hair while blasting feel good tunes (oh and sidenote, I do not have a convertible, I was taking advantage of my sunroof) which is always an enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon.

Aside from an incredibly gorgeous day outside, I had the pleasure of listening to a few of Dr. Wayne Dyer's inpsiring stories on youtube (both of which I highly reccommend if you are looking for a feel good story: "The Story of Shia" and "The Story of Teddy") and I also watched Good Will Hunting which was a pretty good movie AND it inspired me because both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck co-wrote the film and I am currently in the works with one of my good friends on a screenplay...Hmmm...

Well that's all for today, thanks for tuning in and please feel free to share your wonderful Wednesday stories!

:)

  1. Hey Candice! It was great to be able to share lunch w/ you today and I agree - it was a great cafe-like experience on a beautiful day in downtown Cleveland! Let's see if we can have a repeat of today for later this week :)

My story for today is I got to meet and practice with my very first girls soccer team (the U12 Ladybugs)(with 3 boys at home and having coached boys soccer since 2006, it was time to add a girls team to the mix - and my neighbor girls needed a coach....). This is going to be a lot of fun! We have a great group of girls personality-wise. Plus, we have a lot of really good talent! The girls were very coachable and looked good in our first scrimmage. My assistant coach Cathy, who has never coached before, is definitely engaged and better yet, she is a blast and a lot of fun. How did I get so lucky!

  3. Hi honey! It was Tracy who sent me a little blurb on happiness and I am continually reminded of this every day...."happiness is a decision, not an event." Couldn't be truer when the going gets tough, that's for sure -
