Catchy beats and good tunes

I unintentionally took a month-long hiatus (has it seriously been that long?! Yikes, time flies.) Anyway, the past couple of days have been filled with music discoveries and news I can't resist sharing, which is precisely what provoked this blog post.

  • Earlier this week, Julian Velard released "Mr. Saturday Night" (available for sale on iTunes for $9.99.) If you are a sucker for piano and catchy lyrics, you'll enjoy his new album! My particular favorites are "Sentimental" and "Love Again for the First Time." Check out his YouTube channel or website to preview his music. I have a feeling he would put on a great live show and will definitely keep tabs on his upcoming tour dates.
  • Daytrotter recently posted a session with Brushfire Records' Bahamas. As if I wasn't already a fanatic for each of Brushfire's artists (Jack Johnson, ALO and G. Love to name a few), Bahamas is incredibly talented as well. Check out his session (my particular favorite, "Already Yours"), here.
  • (While you're at it, check out Rosi Golan, AA Bondy, Barcelona and Two Door Cinema Club on Daytrotter.)
  • Song of the week: Freelance Whales - "Ghosting"
